- Cut the avocados in half. Remove the seed and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- With a fork, roughly mash the avocado. Don't overdo it, keep it a little chunky.
- Add lime juice, garlic, salt, pepper, cilantro, and minced onion. Stir gently to combine.
- Remove stem and seeds from serrano chile pepper, if using, and mince. Stir into guacamole. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
